Blue... Team

This week was our second week of "Team Fischer" co-ed, slow pitch softball. Matt and I have been having so much fun. We are playing with Lance and Kendra, and Matt's cousins, Mandy and Clint, Candace, Tyson, Candace's friend Becky, and Matt's uncle Dave, Matt's cousin Kirsten, along with some other friends of the Fischer family. After three games, we are starting to get things together. Granted, we have been slaughtered all three games. Luckily, softball is fun even when you don't win. Especially slow pitch. Matt and I have been playing outfield with uncle Dave. Matt had some great hits this week, and I had a lot of pop-ups (one was an RBI that scored our only run of that game though). Gotta love softball. My favorite part of the game was when Matt borrowed my glove when I was sitting out. He was so proud to have to use his wife's glove out in the field... hahaha...

Of course, we can't smile, or really look good for that matter...

My Meltdown

Yesterday was my last day of work before school starts! This week we have all been working frantically trying to get everything ready. I had a surprise this week, I found out that I would not have 24 students. I will have 28. I freaked out a little, but got over it, and by Thursday, I felt super ready to go. Back to School night went smoothly, it was fun to see all the kids excited for school to start, although I did have some kids ask me, "When does school start?" HELLO! IF YOU DON'T KNOW, THAT IS A PROBLEM! Anyways, on Friday we had meetings all day preparing us to do a better job this year as teachers. You really have no idea all the stuff we do to make sure your kids are getting the best education they can with us. Well, after our meetings are over, I found out that I was going to have 30 students! And I also found out that my schedule was going to be changing. I think I was at my limit of stress, and finally, this all just pushed me over. I got my new class list, and found out the secretary had been exaggerating, I really was still at 28 kids (I lost two, but got two new kids since Monday). I also figured out my schedule in my mind, but it was just having to change that was so scary. The cute teachers I work with were talking to me about how it wasn't a big deal, but the more they said, the worse I felt, I dont' know what it was. Then one of the guys asked me how I was doing, and I just lost it. Started crying... it was embarassing. I went into my room and just worked on dumb stuff until I calmed down.

I swear I'm ready for school to start! We will see how next week goes!

After I got home from my frustrating day at work, Matt and I went to a park and played some softball together. We threw, hit some grounders at each other, and hit some wiffle balls. Matt also let me pitch to him, which was super fun because it has been a while since I have done that. I am so glad that I have a husband who likes to play sports as much as I do, because it was one of the most fun nights we have had in a while. On our way home, we stopped at Arctic Circle for a chocolate dipped ice cream cone. Yum. Fun night.

Cassie is 16!

It's official. Cassie, my baby sister, is 16! Watch out while you are driving! On Wednesday, Matt and I went to my mom's for family dinner and cake and ice cream and presents! My mom and Jeff got Cassie the perfect car for a new 16 year old driver, a white 1997 Nissan Altima, and she loves it! She took us for a ride in her car and she was pretty good (except for turning... I told her that babies were crawling faster than we were). As we were leaving, Cassie turns to us and shouts, "I'm going to be 16 tomorrow!" It was cute. She had a big birthday hoorah, which I am still waiting to hear about. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera, so I didn't take any pictures! I am a slacker!

Cache Valley Rodeo!

Last weekend, Matt and I went up to Richmond to hangout with Jenny, Randy, and the kids, but also for the rodeo! On Thursday, Matt had to have two teeth pulled out, so he was not in great condition, especially considering that he couldn't eat anything except for yogurt and cottage cheese, but he wasn't too grumpy about it. Diet and Myrna, and Lance and Kendra were there on Friday, and Tim and Kamie came up on Saturday, along with Hans. Friday night, we had yummy dinner, sat around the fire pit, and the boys went gallavanting around Richmond on the golf cart, wreaking havoc of course. On Saturday, the boys went golfing while the girls slept in and hung out around the house. We all went to dinner at Chili's and then headed over to the rodeo! The best part of the rodeo, besides the smell, was the Mutton Bustin'! This will probably be known as "Mustin' Bustin" forever because that's what Brad called it. He was so excited to ride his sheep. He actually practiced on Matt before we left the house. When finally it was time for Mutton Bustin', the kids all went over to get ready. The first kid that went totally was trampled by the sheep and was freaking out, then they grabbed Brad and threw him on a sheep! He did not like that, so he let go. I would have done the same thing. The little girl that won wouldn't let go, even when the guy came to get her! It was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen at a rodeo. Way to go Brad! He was so tough.

Jon Schmidt Concert

On Saturday, Randy and Jenny invited us to the Jon Schmidt concert up at Wolf Mountain Resort. It was perfect weather and absolutely beautiful. I have never been to one of his concerts before, but it was so much fun! I couldn't believe how funny a piano concert could be. Even more funny was Brad, he was just absolutely thrilled by every little thing. He could be heard saying, LOOK! HE IS PLAYING WITH HIS TOES! LOOK! HE IS PLAYING UPSIDE DOWN! HAHAHAHA! It was just as entertaining listening to Brad as it was listening to the music. Claire was cute as ever. She came down and cuddled with us, and reached up, grabbed the brim of Matt's hat and pulled his face to her and kissed him! She told Jenny, "I just need to kiss Matt." Way fun. My favorite song was the mix of Taylor Swift's "Love Song" and Coldplay's "Viva La Vida." Someday I'll play the piano well, probably not as good as him, but better than I do now.

See Me Rollin'

Ever since all the Fischer boys (except Randy) bought motorcycles, we have been able to go for rides together every once in a while! We went for a Sunday ride last week up American Fork canyon and it was great. Hot, but great. Matt won't let me ride without my helmet, which is smart, but he won't wear his if it's too hot. Boys. They think they are so tough. The only one who actually looks tough is Tim.

I cannot believe how much they have grown! It is so fun now to hear them talk and play together. They will lay in their cribs talking and singing songs together. I would love to have twins someday. (The twins are now 2 years and 7 months old)
