Another Matt Moment

Matt comes home from school yesterday and says:

"Tori, my arm hurts."

"Why?" I ask.

"Because I was throwing rock salt at the other kids at school."

Yes, for all of you who are wondering how old this man is, he is apparently five. I laughed out loud, because he sounded like a little boy admitting his wrongs to his mother after school.

Matt

Ok, so I feel like a mom who is sharing one of those cute kid moments... except this is about my 25 year old husband, who most often is acting like a little kid...

Last week I am practically begging Matt to tell me what he wants for dinner. I will make anything. If we don't have it, or the right ingredients, I will go get whatever I need. If I don't know how to make it, I will figure it out. Seriously, anything.

Matt says, "Ok. I want...

Mac and cheese

and

mashed potatoes."

HELLO! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

So that's exactly what he got.

I am not a sex ed teacher!

Something wild happened this week with some of my kids at school. I cannot share the details here, but I was reminded about the world we live in, and how dangerous it can be to young minds. I constantly felt like shouting, "I am NOT their mother! I am NOT a sex ed teacher! I should NOT be dealing with this!!!!"

Cottonwood Heights Rec Center

Matt and I are really lucky to live in Cottonwood Heights, just like three minutes away from the home where I grew up. I love this area. I can't wait for spring and summer to come to show how great it is to be living so close to the mountains. Anyways, Matt and I finally decided we needed something to do on a regular basis. We are not fans of gyms, or working out for that matter, so we needed something with more options. Hence, Cottonwood Heights Rec Center. Swimming, tennis, racquetball, indoor track, ice skating, working out, basketball. Definitely things to do!

Last night, Matt and I went over to play some racquetball. I have never played and needed to learn the rules and stuff, and Matt thinks he is a pro so he taught me everything. Then we started playing and I was a little nervous because Matt hits the ball like a hundred miles per hour and I was SURE that he was going to hit me. Well, I was right. Stupid Matt whacked the ball right at me and hit me right in the shoulder. What a bum! I had a huge, red welt on my skin! Luckily for Matt, I used to get hit with stuff all the time growing up: softballs to the face and every other part of my body, volleyballs to every part of my body, shoes, nerf balls to the head when learning to walk.... (yes mom, I will always find an excuse to tell people that), and so many other things. I am used to that kind of stuff.

Good times at Cottonwood Heights. We are excited for more fun stuff to come.
