How do you Oreo?

Matt and I have had an ongoing disagreement about which kind of Oreos to buy. Being a good husband, Matt has usually gotten my kind, but last grocery trip, he caved to his own inner desires. Matt believes that normal Oreos are the best, the best for dipping, which is how he eats Oreos. I do not dip. I need the extra creme. So I double stuf.

This is how we compromise. We get both. His and hers Oreos.

I'd love to hear what kind you all like. (Maybe it's a woman thing, I need the extra sweetness?)

JACKETS

Many of the people who know me now do not know what I was like in high school. Things were different then. Full of packed cars, loud music, dance parties, slurpees (so many slurpees), and the BEST GIRLS EVER. Jenn, being the creative one, used our names to create a group name:
J- Jenn
A- Amy
C- Cocorina (Amie P.)
K- Kasi
E- Erika
T- Tori
S- Sarah

It has somehow stuck. I got a text message at 1:00 in the morning on Wednesday saying that the Jackets needed to get together. Tonight. Ok. So we drop everything and get together for dinner and frozen yogurt at Top It in Holliday. Love these girls. I miss you.

When Good Shoes Go Bad

So remember when you were in elementary school and how fun the last week of school was? Well it SUCKS for your teachers! I have been working like crazy to be ready for school to finish for the summer. Due to this craziness, my home has gotten a little out of hand. Alex text a picture to me of her bedroom, which consisted of a bed and a huge pile of clothes about knee high and six feet across. I sent her this picture in return:

Her reply?
"You can definitely tell we're related."

So that's what happens. Its no bueno.

Stalking

So, while I was stalking an old friend, I found a link to this blog:

This is about a couple who got married, sold everything they owned, and are now traveling the world.

WOW. I have added them to my stalking.

The Past Couple Weeks

We have been busy the last few days! Today, Matt and I got haircuts! I have been dying to get a haircut since all the Fischer women have had cute haircuts! Matt has not been looking forward to getting a haircut, and I had to bribe him in order to get him to come with me. He got his birthday present early, a new xbox 360 to replace the one we have that has not been working forever. Here is the result of my haircut... The first short haircut I've ever had in my life!

This morning Myrna and I went to pick up our Bountiful Baskets (see bountifulbasket.org) and got some awesome fruit and veggies for only $15! I definitely will be doing this again. Here is what we got:

We finally finished up with testing at school. Now I have not really been a believer in bribery at school, however, I had to resort to desperate measures in order to convince my students that they should do well on their tests. Our goal was for 75% of my students to pass each test (with 75% or above), which did not happen. We ended up with only 50% of the students passing each test, which will be a starting point for my students next year. The bribes included: cookies, chips, recess, gushers, no homework, etc., etc. It is amazing what kids will do for a treat.

Yesterday Matt and I headed up to Idaho for Jenni and Jared's wedding! We drove up with Tom and Lindsay and met Jeana and Marc there. The reception was beautiful and it was so fun to see our friend celebrate their marriage! After the reception, the three couples went to dinner at a restaurant called Gertie's, where we had unlimited pizza, pasta, salad bar, and drinks! The waiters brought different types of pizzas around and you would just take one if you wanted it! Some flavors included: ranch pizza, ranch/bacon/chicken pizza, saurkraut(I have no idea how to spell that) pizza, cheese pizza, pepperoni pizza, bbq/chicken/buffalo/bacon pizza, double bacon pizza, idaho pizza.... on and on and on. While the normal pizzas are coming out, there were dessert pizzas coming out! Including Oreo pizza, raspberry pizza, strawberry pizza, reese's pieces pizza, peanut butter extravaganza..... on and on and on. It was such an amazing night. I haven't laughed that much in a long time! Matt and I have amazing friends! We love you guys!

Matt's sweet hair

This is my most recent project. I wanted something bright and colorful to represent summertime!

JAZZ SEASON IS OVER!

Watch Out FBI Agents... You've Got Some Competition

Today at school, Amber and I had a chance to play detective/FBI agent and solve a mystery crime! One of Amber's students came to her and told her that the words "Bloody Mary" were written on the mirrors in the girls bathroom in our hall this morning. Amber talked to her girls who had used the restroom, then talked to Rachel's girls who used the restroom, and finally came to me to ask if any of my girls had used the restroom, which they ALL had because I gave them a quick break after testing.
That is how the mystery began.
Our first clue was that it was written with an orange dry-erase marker. Yesterday, some of my students came back from lunch with orange marker on their faces (seriously! Kids...). So I asked those students about it today (Hey what was on your face yesterday? Whose marker was it?), which led me to our prime suspect, girl #1. Girl #1 told me that she used the marker and took it home yesterday, and me, not trusting a single word, searched her desk for the weapon. Nothing.
Clue number two was the unmistakable handwriting on the mirrors, not to mention the horrific spelling ("bloody marry"). Amber said she would recognize the handwriting by it's unique formation of the letter "a" so I pulled out copies of every one of my girls' writing and we took it into the bathroom and compared. This led us, again, to girl #1 as the prime suspect.
Well at this point, I was feeling all my memories of every Law and Order, Bones, CSI, you name it, coming back to me as I prepared for my interrogation. I pulled girl #1 into the hallway and confronted her:

Lead Investigator (Me): "We have seen the writing in the bathroom and compared it to everyone's handwriting. It looks like yours."
Girl #1: "I took my marker home yesterday."
Me: "I didn't say that it was written in marker."
Girl #1: "Oh... I saw it when I was in there this morning."
Me: "Why didn't you tell me about it?"
Girl #1: "Uh......"
Me: "Did you write those words in the bathroom?"
Girl #1: "Yes."
Me: "Let's go see the vice principal."

Talk about an episode of Law and Order: Elementary School! Amber and I freaking did a little dance in the hallway after we discovered the truth.

(Just so you know, girl #1 was convicted of her crime and was punished by two days, or four recesses, of bathroom cleaning)

One... No, Wait, Two Graduations

On May 1st, Matt and I got to head to the E Center to celebrate my mom's graduation from the University of Pheonix in Business-Marketing! It was way cool to watch my mom graduate from college, while next to me Matt was very excited to play games on his new cell phone... After the graduation, we went out to lunch at Macaroni Grill with Jeff's mom, my grandma and papa Decker, mom and Jeff, Alex, and Cassie. Way fun!

The next weekend, on May 7th, we got to go to Kamie's graduation from the Nursing program at Salt Lake Community College! It was really cool to see the Pinning Ceremony and all the graduates make the nursing pledge. It was cool to see a graduation for a smaller group of people. After the graduation, we went to dinner with all the Fischer crew and Kamie's parents at Olive Garden! Got to love May and all the graduates!

Congratulations Mom and Kamie!!!
