Park City for our 2nd Anniversary!

On Monday, Matt and I spent our second anniversary up in Park City! We went up and had breakfast and played on the Alpine Coaster, Alpine Slide, and Zip Rider. We got a sweet deal at Costco and it was totally worth it. Matt and I loved the Alpine Coaster the most. They tell you that you cannot pull your sled off the track no matter how fast you go, but I doubt that it is impossible. We were going so fast, I was SURE we were coming off. Matt is a crazy person when it comes to thrill rides. We were supposed to have a softball game that night, but it got canceled, so Matt and I went to dinner and a movie instead.

I have to say that I usually get uncomfortable when I read people's blogs when they talk about how much they love their spouse, so I'll make this brief (although my feelings are very deep). I am so happy that Matt and I found each other. I am so much happier with him in my life. He is an amazing man. Because of my past, I don't have the best idea of husbands, so I tend to underestimate how special it is to be married and have a husband, and Matt always exceeds everything I think. He has a big job rebuilding some of the things that are broken inside me, but is doing it every day. I love him so much and can't believe that we will be together forever. I'm sooo lucky.

Growing

As has been my routine for the last four summers, I have been babysitting all summer, not full-time anymore, but still with the same family. People who read my blog are probably sick of hearing about these kids, but too bad for you. I cannot believe how much kids grow and change. The twins were only four months old when I started watching them regularly, and now they are almost four, Chloe will be six in October, and Hannah is 10 and Mason will be baptized next spring! Wow. I had to pull out my pictures from that first summer with the kids to even remember how small they used to be.

HOT DOGS

Matt has a strange obsession with hot dogs. We were playing a mind-reading game the other night and he asked what he was thinking about. I guessed hot dogs. He said that 50% of the time, that would be the right answer. WHAT THE HELL? I have no idea why he is so in love with hot dogs. Anyone?

The Countdown Begins...

I have officially put my classroom together, and all my stuff is in!
(Except my refrigerator) So now, the countdown begins...

6 days until I am back on contract...

12 days until I have students full-time...

Fishing with the Fischers

The Fischer boys love to fish more than anyone else I have ever met. So a couple weeks ago, Randy and Jenny brought the kids down to Salt Lake and we all went fishing together up at Butterfly Lake. We packed a bunch of food, sweatshirts, fishing gear, and all drove up. We spend a lot of time as a family, but this was the first time in a while that we were all together, except for Kamie who had to work. Everyone who fished caught something, which made it even more fun! Matt spent most of the night trying to catch a fish on Claire's little pink pole, he even went against parental wishes and put a real hook on her pole, and she caught a fish with it! Brad was a whiz, catching fish left and right. Even Jenna caught one on her very last cast of the night. Lots of fun!

Bees Game with the Roomies

Just before the 24th of July, Matt and I planned a night for my roommates and their husbands to get together. We went to the Bees game! Jenni and Jared came down from Logan (with Jenni being almost 30 weeks pregnant), and Jeana and Marc came up from Nephi (luckily the cherry harvest had not started yet). Lindsay and Tom were going to come too, but baby Olivia had just come a few days earlier and they weren't quite up to a Bees game with a four day old baby, which is understandable. Matt has been telling me how the Bees suck this year, but luckily they won the game we were at! Jared was so funny, he really wanted to catch a homerun ball, so he sat with his glove on the whole game, ready just in case! After the game, they had fireworks, which were awesome! We always love getting together with our friends, and they are always so great to come to Salt Lake from wherever they are! We love you guys!

Softball

Softball has always been such a dominant part of my life, and I cannot believe I am already where I am now. I have played rec softball, competitive softball, high school softball, and now adult co-ed softball. I have coached high school softball, and am now coaching my first competitive team! I am so excited. We are the Rampage, 12 and under, and I am so thrilled to be doing this! We have a tournament this weekend and I cannot wait! (Pictures to come...)
