Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

Hannah McKinlay (Age 10) 2011

The Life of an Aggie Fan

The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl.

We drove five hours to Boise to see a football game. Diet came with us at the last minute because Randy had to take care of his wifey, who unfortunately is back in the hospital. Luckily our seats weren't crappy, and the weather was nice (if you pretend that it wasn't below freezing). We got all decked out in our winter gear, which included: coveralls over jeans, warm socks, snow boots, long sleeve tee shirt, sweatshirt, coat, gloves, scarf and warm headband. I could barely move and I still needed a hot chocolate at half time. Matt kept looking over at me to make sure I hadn't turned into an icicle. The Aggies were winning for most of the game, and there were even some fun plays to watch on the smurf turf. There were lots of other Aggie fans there too. Like A LOT. You'd think they'd figure out how to win in front of that many supporters. However, Aggies never seem to know how to finish. I guess we had to play in the bowl the same way we played all year. It was like losing to BYU all over again. Depressing. Then a five hour drive home. We picked up Brad and Claire on the way, who talked our ears off even though it was after 1:00 AM. Matt and I were thrilled to leave them at Diet and Myrna's and go home to our quiet apartment.

Christmas Decorations!

Matt and I disagree on what makes a good Christmas tree. Matt likes the Charlie Brown tree; five branches covered with colored lights, tinsel and homemade ornaments. I was raised by a professional; I like a big, fat tree, covered with white lights and lots of matching ornaments. After a lot of frustration last year, I convinced Matt to let me buy our tree this year rather than cutting it down, and I am sooooo happy! Matt's comments were: "It's too perfect." Yes. Just the way I like it.

I used the ornaments that I couldn't fit on my tree in two strands of garland, one fake garland and one real garland made from the branches from our tree we had to cut off.

I love redecorating my wreath every year to make it match my tree!

Sorry Fischers! I know you love your fresh-cut trees, but I love the big fat ones!

Hail the Utah Aggies!

Again, Randy got us some Aggie tickets this week to watch some basketball! This is really where you have to be an aggie to understand the feeling of being there in the spectrum. You can be there, but unless you have been in the middle of the student section, you just cannot understand what being an aggie really means. I miss it! I wished that I could have sat in the middle of the crazy students! Luckily, the aggies won! And even better, we saw Ronnie Price at the game!

Ronnie Price

We tried to get Brad to go say hi to Ronnie P and get a picture with him, but he wasn't up for it. Instead he went down and gave him the rock. What a stud.

Aggie Football

Randy got Matt and I tickets to the last Aggie football game in Logan this season. We have been talking about going to a game all year. We miss Logan, and we definitely miss Utah State. We walked on campus a little bit and I was actually homesick. It was so fun to be in the middle of all those Aggie fans, especially doing the Scotsman and singing the school song. Even better, the Aggies won! I didn't see that happen often when I was in school! Thanks to Randy and Brad for keeping us company.

Brad's smile is so cute with all those missing and partially grown-in teeth!

After the game we had dinner at Randy and Jenny's house and got to see Claire and Harrison. When the yummy rolls were done, I passed Harrison to Matt to devour some rolls, and caught this cute picture of the sleeping boys...

Thanksgiving 2011

This year Matt and I took Matt's and Diet's guns (and Diet and Myrna, of course) out shooting! Jeff, my mom, Cassie, Scott and Alyssa came with us this year and we had a riot! I had a ton of fun shooting shotguns, probably my favorite, but the other girls liked the .22 rifle and pistol better. The boys liked the big guns of course! They put a lot of rounds through Matt's 30.6 rifle and muzzle-loader. Jeff couldn't get enough. It was fun to see tough army man Scott shooting. Watch out bad guys! After shooting, we had dinner and played games with my mom's family. Definitely a fun Thanksgiving.

Sorry there are so many pictures, my mom and Scott wanted to put some on their Facebook....

Claire's 4th Birthday and Babies!

This weekend, Matt and I went up to Logan to celebrate Claire's birthday! The birthday girl is four now! I can't believe it! Not only is she four, but she wears a size 12 shoe and size 6/7 clothes! She is huge! This year, Claire is all about cowgirls. So she got a bunch of horse toys, and Matt and I got her pink cowboy boots and a blingy belt! Every cowgirl needs a blingy belt! We definitely love this cute little girl!

Baby Claire- November 2008

The other fun part about getting together with the Fischer family is spending time with the new babies, Harrison and Reagan! It was the first time we have seen Harrison in about a month, and the first time we've seen them together. Of course I had to take a few pictures of the two cuties together...

I had to compare this picture of Brad when he was a baby to the pictures of Harrison. Don't they look alike? I wanted to take a picture of Matt holding Harrison the same way, but I never got to it. Maybe next time...

Cassie is OLD

I've been meaning to post this picture since Cassie's birthday in August, but I just barely got around to pulling pictures off my phone, so sorry it is way late! On August 19, Cassie turned freaking 17 years old! I cannot believe it! She is so old now! On Saturday (11/12/11) she went to her first high school dance! Ahhh! I cannot believe how much time flies!

Kids

I mostly love kids.

There are days that I don't.

Like the day I found this on a bathroom stall:

I wish I could teach them about life, about the real world. About how some people deal with things this way, but the people they want to be know better ways. I wish I could teach them those better ways of dealing with their frustrations and with things that they don't understand because they are young.

I wish they could understand why I am a b**** sometimes. Not today I guess.

Danny and Heather Abbott

This weekend we went down to St. George for Danny Abbott's wedding! We had dinner in Paragonah on Thursday with the Abbott crew (dutch oven dinner of course, courtesy of Russ) and the wedding on Friday (11/11/11) in the St. George temple with the reception that night. Two very long days of wedding (longer because Matt was a groomsman and had to attend to his duties), but very fun with the Abbott family. We are so excited for Danny and Heather!

These two cute girls were attached to us all weekend... Cute McCoy and Lindsay

Emily would not let anyone hold her all weekend except mom or dad, and for some reason she let Matt hold her for a while during the reception. He must have been sneaking her candy or something...

After the wedding festivities were over, we made sure to hit the golf course! We played Coral Canyon with Diet and had a lot of fun.

Random

Matt and I both are pretty random, especially when we get wandering around stores while we are trying to waste some time. One night when we were visiting baby Harrison in Logan, Matt and I found a huge bucket of DumDum suckers in ShopKo while we were wasting time. When I say huge, I mean a freaking five gallon bucket of suckers that cost more than I am willing to say online. But did we buy them! Oh yes we did. Then last week we found this:

Did we buy it? Oh yes we did. We are now using it as a savings account. Talk about random. I blame Matt.

Halloween

Matt finally got a chance to see his niece Reagan on Halloween, after Tim and Kamie came home from the hospital! We stopped by to snuggle the baby before going over to Diet and Myrna's for dinner and to show her off a little. Matt had to have a costume, so he bought himself a gross mustache and wore it all night!

Our ward does a Trunk-or-Treat every year for Halloween and the young women had to help put it together this year. I happened to have the three little McKinlay kids for the night, so I brought them along. Zach and Andrew were monsters for Halloween, and Chloe, appropriately, was Snow White. We had a lot of fun, I really loved watching them try to eat the doughnut off the string...

Five

Five babies this month for friends and family!

Jenny and Randy Fischer (Matt's brother) were first with Harrison Mathias Fischer on October 6.
Jenni and Jared Ash (my roommate from USU) were next with Trennon Wayne Ash on October 8.
Marianne and Jon Olydroyd (our landlords) had Peter Zenger Oldroyd on October 11?
Kim and Nate Christensen (Diet and Myrna's next door neighbors) had Analiese Rae Christensen on October 25.
Kamie and Tim Fischer (Matt's brother) had Reagan Amy Fischer on October 27.

Wow! Busy, busy!

Reagan Amy Fischer

We have another new addition to the Fischer family! Tim and Kamie welcomed baby Reagan Amy into their family and ours last night at 11:00 PM after quite the day of labor. Kamie is definitely a hero for what she had to do to get that baby here. When I visited today, baby Reagan slept in my arms for almost an hour, so obviously she was pretty tired herself.

Reagan Amy Fischer
Born on October 27, 2011 at 11:00 PM
6 pounds 14 ounces
21 inches
37 weeks

She was trying so hard to open her eyes, but it was too bright!

When I was holding her, Timmy had to glue her little bow to her head. Daddy already has his priorities straight. Beauty comes first.

The new family of three!

Congratulations Tim and Kamie! We love you guys!
