Fox Camping Trip

This weekend, Matt and I went up Logan Canyon to camp with my mom, Jeff, Cassie, Alex and Jake. We had a great time playing cards, eating, playing corn hole, getting shakes at Bear Lake, and sitting around the fire talking. On the downside, Matt's car died on the way to Bear Lake and we'll need to buy a new car. Also my grandpa got really sick and had to go to hospital.

I only took this one picture the whole weekend. Jeff and Jake thought they were the most awesome corn hole players ever, but Matt and I dethroned them!

Pioneer Day

For the 24th of July this year we headed over to Randy and Jenny's (of course!) for a BBQ and fireworks! While we were eating, Harrison was practicing his t-ball skills, just like his big brother and sister!

I love this picture! It looks like he is swinging for a homerun! And the corn in the background make it look like "Field of Dreams"...

I wish I hadn't wiggled the camera on this one!

Wouldn't be a summer day without one of the kids in the strawberries... in this case it was Wyatt

Tim brought Jack over, which made Matt very happy. He loves this dog!

After the firework fiasco last year, everyone was a little hesitant to do fireworks. For the most part, the kids wanted to keep some distance between them and the sparklers...

Some of the neighborhood kids saw us doing fireworks and had to join in the fun!

Wyatt has had a couple bad fireworks experiences and was a little bit scared...

I stole this pic from Trish's blog... After fireworks we were having relay races and playing night games and one of the games was an old Fischer classic- "Pile Dog!" (so named because Bradley forgot that the real name was "dog pile" when he was little and called it "pile dog"- of course, it stuck!) Even the Haws kids got in on the action!

Luckily for us, there were no fires or injuries due to fireworks and we ended up having a great night!

Golfing with the Boys

Matt has had a few days off recently and we went to Birch Creek Golf Course to play 9 holes with Justin, Randy and Brad. I didn't want to play, so I rode in the cart and drove Matt's clubs around. It was a gorgeous day and I had a ton of fun watching Randy teach Brad how to golf.

Tits for Hits

This summer, Matt and I put together another co-ed softball team with our friends! The people on our team were Randy and Jenny, Lindsay and Tom (who came up from Roy to play with us!), Tim, Kelsey (who I work with at Summit), Todd, and Amy (who works with Randy). We had to regularly get subs due to everyone's busy schedules, which led to us getting to know Nate Shields really well (who is in the picture), and a few other people who were so awesome to come play with us. We were pretty awful, we lost every game except for two where the other team forfeited, but we had a really fun time!

Girl's Night Out!

After a busy summer entertaining the kids, the women were in need of a little girl time. So one night we had the boys babysit the kids and Jenny, Kamie, Melissa and I went out for pedicures, dinner at Elements and a movie. We watched Les Miserables at my house (where it is a kid-free zone). It was so much fun! We definitely need to do girl's night more often!

Day at the Logan Aquatic Center

One of our park days this summer was at the Logan Aquatic Center. It was an overcast day so there weren't very many people there, which was awesome. The first thing Brad did was run to the big slide. He even talked me into going down the slide with him, and I was terrified!

Harrison loved swimming! He is a little fish!

Claire thought it was funny to let the big buckets dump water on her!

She also liked to go down the curvy slide as long as the guy at the bottom caught her!

Melissa and Wyatt!

Harrison wasn't sure about the slide. It went pretty slow, so it wasn't scary, but he didn't make any happy noises or faces at all. He was very stoic. But it must have been fun because at the end of the slide, he would point at the slide like he wanted to go again.

Look at those nasty storm clouds! We did get rained on a little bit, which scared away the crowd, but it wasn't enough to keep us away!

Kids Night!

My mom said that all my blog posts are about my nieces and nephews and she is right! This summer has been all about hanging out with those cute kids! Randy and Jenny needed a babysitter for the night and Matt and I volunteered to take the kids out on a date of our own! We picked up some pizza then headed to the movie theater to see "Monsters University." This was the most enjoyable movie I have been to in a while, not because it was a good movie, but because watching it with the kids made it hilarious! We brought little cups to put popcorn in for the kids, and throughout the movie Harrison kept hitting Matt to get him to fill up his cup with popcorn. Then he would hit Matt again so he could get a high five. Harrison was sitting on my lap and was trying to feed me popcorn without looking away from the movie. About an hour into the movie, Harrison was tired of sitting on my lap, but didn't want to sit in the chair by himself, so I sat on the steps and he walked back and forth between Matt and I. Then he knocked over his popcorn and had to pick it all up! He would not just leave it on the floor. He definitely is a min-Randy. Matt had his own funny experiences sitting next to Claire and Brad. Every time there was a funny part, they started laughing really loud! After the movie, Matt and Brad were taking forever in the bathroom, and when they came back we found out they had been taking pictures! Of course Claire and Harrison wanted to take pictures too!

I love how Claire is too little to fit all the way into the square!

After the movie we went back to our house and played some games on the Nintendo. Matt tried to get the kids into playing original Super Nintendo games, but they didn't like them as much as they liked playing Wii games. Even Harrison had to have his own controller to play while he was sitting with Matt!

We were going to have the kids sleep over, so we put the kids to bed in our spare room, where Spike lives. Claire was pretty nervous to sleep in there with Spike. I had to take a picture of all three of them being watched over by Spike!

Bear Lake for the Fourth of July Weekend

Matt got finished with work a little early and had a couple days off before the weekend, so we spent some time just hanging out together. On the third, we went to see The Lone Ranger and then went up to see the fireworks in the football stadium with Danny and Heather Abbott. It was so much fun! Last year we took the motorcycle up on campus and watched the fireworks, then drove the motorcycle through campus to miss traffic, and it was really fun to see the fireworks close up with our friends! On the fourth, we went to see Despicable Me 2 and went to lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings. It was so much fun to just relax just the two of us. Matt has been so busy working, and has been out of town most of the summer, so I loved these few days we had together.

For a few years we have been so lucky to be invited to Kamie's parents' cabin at Bear Lake! This is always a really fun trip, especially for the kids, and we are so happy that we got some time off to go up there this year. Matt and I made it up there on Friday afternoon and got to enjoy the great weather while the kids played in the hose and blow-up pool. That evening, the boys went out and played golf at Bear Lake West, and Matt came back just so happy that he got to spend some time with all three of his brothers. Everyone is so busy that we don't get a lot of chances to get together with all four couples. Saturday morning was the Fourth of July golf tournament at Bear Lake West, which Matt, Lance, Diet, and I were able to play on the same team. Randy and Tim played with Derek and Terry and ended up winning some money!

I love this picture- all four sons with their dad

Do you think it's time for Tim to get a haircut?

Later that day, Randy, Jenny, Derek and Tim took the kids out on the boat to go swimming and for a boat ride. Some of us stayed back to hang out and go get shakes! Reagan was so enthralled with her little cousin Kailee! She just wanted to play with her!

Soooo cute!!

Reagan even had to wake up uncle Matt to play for a little bit

Matt and I haven't even taken a picture of us with Kailee yet, so I made sure to get one with her this trip. It was so much fun to spend real time with Lance, Kendra, and Kailee and get to know their little one better!

The kids each had their own squirt bottle to play with for the weekend. For the little kids, that meant drinking out of the squirt bottle. Harrison and Reagan are getting really good at sharing! Don't you love Harrison's tongue sticking out?!

On Sunday morning, we made waffles for breakfast and helped clean the cabin and headed home. We had a fantastic time at the cabin relaxing and hanging out, and wish that all our family would move up to Cache Valley so we could do this all the time! What a great way to spend the weekend!

Friends Trip 2013

Matt and I are lucky to have such good friends. I have kept in contact with most of my roommates from Utah State and luckily my awesome husband has made friends with all the husbands so we can all get together! We have had an annual Christmas party for a few years, and wanted to start a summer trip together. It was difficult with everyone's busy schedules, but we were able to go up to the Uintas for a weekend camping trip at the end of June! Matt and I headed up on Thursday morning and camped by ourselves until Friday night, when Lindsay and Tom, Livi and Dax (Lindsay's cousin) came up! Saturday morning, Natalie and Zach made it up!

We spent the days relaxing in camp, Tom brought his four-wheeler and went for a few rides, and we went fishing at Mirror Lake! It was a busy weekend and there were a million people there so we didn't get a fantastic spot, but Lindsay and Matt were not going to leave until they caught a fish!

Livi with her cute little fishing pole- Tom put a bobber on it and it was so cute to hear her say "bobber"

Tom and Liv catching fish on the bobber- Tom had to go in the water to unstick a hook and after that we all had to keep an eye on Livi so she didn't dive right in! She thought if dad could go in, so could she!

Dax helped Matt bring in one of his fish

Back at camp, Livi just loved playing with Dax. She has the cutest little laugh! This trip will be really fun when there are a few kids all playing together.

The boys brought their BB guns and had a blast shooting anything they could! They spent the whole weekend trying to find birds to shoot, which were way more fun to shoot than regular targets.

Livi loved playing in the dirt! She was filthy by the time it was time to go to bed!

Matt and I brought Glow-in-the-Dark bubbles! The bottle glowed really well, but the bubbles didn't really glow, which was a bit of a disappointment.

Hopefully next year more people will be able to go on our trip, because it was so much fun this year! We are so lucky to have such good friends! We love you guys!
