Reading, Reading, Reading

How lame am I? Here I am, posting about my Spring Break, and all I am planning on saying is how excited I am for summer, and how many books I have read this week. Seriously. Time to get a life I guess. Just FYI, there are only 7 more weeks of elementary school until summer!!! Yes. I am very excited. Cross your fingers that I can find a new job before those 7 weeks are up. Yes, I am looking for a new job. I still want to teach, I just need a new "environment." I am very excited for summer, and cannot wait until testing is over and I can have some fun at school again.

I do have some good reads to report:
1. "I am Number Four" by Pittacus Lore
The movie and the book are both good. But the author of the book is very interesting. Here is his bio from the book: "Pittacus Lore is Lorien's ruling Elder. He has been on Earth for the last twelve years, preparing for the war that will decide Earth's fate. His whereabouts are unknown." One book in a series, unknown how many books will be in the series.
2. "The Emerald Atlas" by John Stephens
Children's literature, with some surprising twists and other elements not found in other fantasy novels. I couldn't put it down, I needed to know how it would end. First book in a series of three.
3. "The Beyonders" by Brandon Mull
Author of the "Fablehaven" series. Not as much fun, a little slower than "Fablehaven," but once you get into it, it turns out to be better than you would have thought. Worth the time it takes to get into it. Again the first in a series of three books.

(And being the nerd that I am, I bought the "official illustrated Twilight guide." I haven't read it yet, but it looks very interesting.)

JUST FYI, THE SECOND BOOK IN THE KANE CHRONICLES COMES OUT ON MAY 3!

HELLO SUNSHINE!

One day in the sun...

BRING IT ON!!!

Skiing

Matt and I have never been skiing together, so when our plans to go on a spring vacation fell through, we figured we would still take the time off and just hang out. We went to a few movies, went shopping, slept in, all the good stuff, and we went skiing. We went up to Brighton and went skiing, even though it was snowing on us. It has been about three years since either of us has gone skiing (Matt actually is a snowboarder), so we got tired after about four hours and had to go home. It was totally worth it.

We totally have spring fever... Can you see the tennis racquets, golf clubs and softball gloves in there?

Yes, I Still Babysit These Kids

Yes I have been babysitting these kids for three years now. Actually, about five years, because I started watching Hannah and Mason before Chloe was even born. I love them very much. Matt and I get to watch these five almost every Saturday and it has become a fun routine for our weekend. Hannah will be 10 in May, Mason just turned 7 in March, Chloe will be 6 in October, and the twins turned 3 in January.
This video is cute Zachary singing. Singing is one of my favorite things to do. It always amazes me how well the kids remember the words. I wish I had a video of Zach singing "Teenage Dream." It was hilarious!
