The Cheap Seats... NOT

Matt and I FINALLY went to a Jazz game this year! We have been talking about it for about four months, and thanks to my sister, finally went to a game! We went to game 4 against the Nuggets on Sunday, and it was amazing! It's great going to a game where your team actually plays decent and wins. Especially when it is the Jazz and there is no way to know how they are going to play on any given night. We went to the game with Alex and Brett and sat pretty close to the top of the ESA, but it was still awesome. I got the funniest text from Matt's dad, Diet, during the game. He asked: "How does it feel being at the game with thousands of Matt's around you?" It was so true! Everyone was screaming at the refs, swearing, and other typical Jazz behavior. I had to laugh at the creativity of Utah women. There were a couple signs that said, "Utah girls love 'BOOZE' on Sundays!" Clever. There were some creative Mormons as well. Their sign said, "Utah Jazz! 1st Ward! (Sorry bishop!)" Gotta love Utah. And, it must be said...

Go Jazz! I HATE the Nuggets!

Natalie Neibaur and Jenni Ash

A couple weekends ago, Matt and I went up to Logan to see Randy and Jenny and the kids, and also for me to go to lunch, aka "bridal shower," for a couple of my old roommates who are getting married this summer! Natalie is getting married on June 5, and Jenni is getting married on May 21, and I lived with these girls the last two years I was up at Utah State. Crazy. We went to lunch with Jeana, our other roommate who was married first. It is crazy that we are all married (well, close to all being married). I can't believe how fast life changes. I love these girls, and had such a great time at lunch. I am so excited for them!

22... and still wreaking havoc

This is old news for many people, particularly for the Fischer family, however I felt like it still somehow needed to be documented. A few weeks ago, Kamie, Tim, Matt and I had dinner and watched the Jazz game. After the game, the boys were pretty hyper and wanted to do something.... so what do we do? We go find the HUGE roll of shrink wrap used by the Fischer boys to wrap cars at weddings, and take it up to Lance's house and get creative. Tim and Matt wrapped Lance's gate, bbq, car, garbage cans... basically anything they could, including a long run straight across the front yard. Do you remember that adrenaline you felt when you were 16 and toilet papered someone at 3 in the morning? Well when you are 22 (or 24, or 26, or 30), the adrenaline is the same, even if it is only 9:30, and you are shrink wrapping your brother's house. For good measure, we had to go over to Bill Pedersen's house and do his front yard too. Might as well finish off the roll, right? I'm not sure Bill knows who did that to his house. Kamie has the photo evidence of this, so someday I'll put it all up. But for now, you get the picture we took before we left (very blurry, sorry!), of what Matt thinks he looks like when he has gas. And that was how the night began.

Hobby Impulses

Last week, Matt took me to The Wood Connection, where I always spend too much on wood craft stuff. I love everything there. Matt is the best husband and bought me some projects to work on "during the NBA playoffs" because he is so into the NBA he thought I would feel neglected. Well, I've already finished two of my projects! This one is going in my classroom.

It's an addiction. I have no control.

Spring Break at the Dunes

For Spring Break and Easter this year, Matt and I headed down to Coral Pink for the Fischer/Abbott annual sand dunes trip. Matt and I followed Tim with the trailer down and got caught in some wild Utah weather, and also got caught behind some idiot Utah drivers (typical). We got in pretty late and set up before going to bed. The next morning we woke up to a little snow on the ground... I was not happy. Luckily, it melted quickly and that was the last of the snow for the weekend. I got to go golfing with the boys on Friday in Kanab, which was really fun. We all sucked pretty bad, but that doesn't really matter too much when you are with the Fischer boys. The only thing that changes is that there is A LOT of cheating (as opposed to a little), and A LOT of swearing (as opposed to a little). That night, Matt and I got to take the four-wheeler out for a ride on the dunes, which was really fun. Matt also taught me how to ride his dirt bike, which was scary. I'm still not sure if I like riding a motorcycle! I will keep working on it though, just in case it turns out to be fun.

On Saturday, we relaxed in our camp, listened to a little bit of conference, and in the afternoon we went out for a ride on the wheelers with Lance and Kendra, Jake and Jenna, Tim and Kamie, Danny, and Brady and Steph.

We all thought we were pretty great for climbing Widowmaker, then Danny would zoom past us and jump off the top...

Then we went through the "wash," a trail through the woods on the edge of the dunes. It was my favorite part of the whole trip. It felt like the Disneyland of four-wheeling. Tim and Kamie made me laugh. Tim had to wear his hat sideways while we were riding because if it was forward, it would fall off, and when it was backwards, it would hit Kamie in the face!

Sunday was a great Easter for us... even though Matt broke one of the chairs in Diet and Myrna's trailer! The bottom just dropped out from under him!

Everyone packed up and headed out Sunday morning and afternoon, except Matt, Diet, Myrna and I. We were planning to head home on Monday. So, we drove into Paragonah to visit some Abbotts, and on our way back we drove through Zion National Park. WOW. I have never been there and it was beautiful. We stopped and went for a little hike with Diet, which was also a highlight of my trip. It was the perfect temperature for being outside and hiking, the view was amazing, and the mountain goats were all over the place! Myrna had one walk right next to her while she was waiting for us to come back from our hike.

This is one of the best pictures of the trip. Matt and I got caught up taking some pictures and when we caught up to Diet, we found him sitting on this huge rock just waiting for us! It was hilarious... and of course, Matt had to climb up there and sit on the rock too.

I love this trip. Even though we come home with sand EVERYWHERE, it is always so much fun.

Fischer

My new fill for my shadow box...
