Twas the Night Before Finals

The night before finals week begins is always full of dread, in my case it will officially be Monday of finals week in one hour and five minutes. In honor of my LAST finals week ever in college, I wanted to share this poem that I got during my very first finals week as a freshman (it was also December so this poem was pretty cute for the holiday). To everyone out there who is facing finals in the next few weeks... GOOD LUCK!

Twas the night before finals, and all through the college,
The students were praying for last minute knowledge.
Most were quite sleepy, but none touched their beds,
While visions of essays danced in their heads.
Out in the taverns, a few were still drinking,
And hoping that liquor would loosen their thinking.
In my own room I had been pacing,
And dreading exams I soon would be facing.
My roommate was speechless, his nose in his books,
And my comments to him drew unfriendly looks.
I drained all the coffee, and brewed a new pot,
No longer caring that my nerves were all shot.
I stared at the notes, but my thoughts were muddy,
My eyes went ablur, I just couldn't study.
"Some pizza might help," I said with a shiver,
But each place I called refused to deliver.
I'd nearly concluded that life was too cruel,
With futures depending on grades made in school.
When all of a sudden, our door opened wide,
And Patron Saint Put-It-Off ambled inside.
His spirit was careless, his manner was mellow,
All of a sudden, he started to bellow.
"On Cliff's notes, on Crib notes, On Last Year Exams.
On Wing-It and Sling-It and Last Minute Crams."
His message delivered, he vanished from sight,
But we heard him laughing outside in the night.
"Your teachers have pegged you, so just do your best,
Happy Finals to All, and to all a Good Test."

Kendra's Shower!

Fun times on Saturday at Kendra's shower with the Fischer family! We had yummy crepes, Jenny and Kamie were the master crepe makers, with all the toppings you can imagine! My favorite had strawberries, yogurt and powdered sugar... Thanks to my mom for being the amazing party planner and helping me put together cute table decorations, I can only take credit for the table runner which was sewn at like 11:00 the night before and was not that good if you looked closely. I am sooo excited for the wedding, May 13 is coming so fast!

Easter Weekend

This weekend I went down to Salt Lake for Easter and for Sarah's bridal shower! It was so fun to see my friends from high school and to spend time with my family.

Matt and I made Easter cookies before I went down to Salt Lake and before he left for the Sand Dunes.

Make-up Post

Well, since we have spent the last week making up softball games that we have missed due to the horrible weather (where is the sun???), I seem to also be behind here, so here is my make-up post for the last week and a half. Mountain Crest softball is playing games every day that there is sunshine. We have four scheduled this week. We played Monday and Tuesday, and will play today and tomorrow if weather permits. Last week we were ready to play every day, but each game got cancelled until Thursday when we finally got to play. For the rest of the season, we have at least three games a week, which is a lot for high school softball. School is so lame, but finally almost over! Only three weeks (including this one) of class, and a week of finals, before freedom! I am literally counting down the days, and taking as many days off class as I deem necessary for my health (such as today). Last weekend I went home, for like the first time in over a month, and did a lot of visiting. I visited a friend recently home from his mission, a friend who I haven't seen in like six months while the boys were at priesthood, went to Leatherby's with Tim and Kamie (and loaded up on books from Kamie's home library), saw my dad's parents, and had dinner with my mom and Jeff, Alex and Jason, and Becky and the kids. Whew. Oh I also visited the family I nannied last summer, the McKinlays. The twins are just starting to walk and it is really the cutest thing I've ever seen- imagine two little boys in only their diapers walking Frankenstein-style at you at the same time. I can't believe how much changes happen in only a month or so. I also found out I will only be nannying part-time this summer, so if anyone knows of a sweet summer job for me, I'm still looking for something else to supplement the nannying. I'm looking forward to this weekend for a little break from the chaos and to spend some more time with my mom and to see my friends from high school at another bridal shower. My life would be so empty without all these people.
