Happy Birthday Reagan and Harrison!

Reagan and Harrison both turned one this month, so the families all got together to celebrate! Jenny and Kamie made everything so cute, especially the cute baby cakes! Kamie even made those cute owls on the table to match the colors of the babies' birthday cakes.

Reagan liked the frosting and was licking it off the cake! She wasn't really interested in the cake part, but that is all Harrison wanted! He didn't want any frosting, but dug in when we broke it open and he saw the cake!

When Reagan woke up from her nap, she was so happy! Jenny and I couldn't resist taking some pictures of her in her cute birthday outfit, and I couldn't resist testing out the settings on my camera with her darling pink tutu!

We love our nieces and nephews! Happy birthday little ones!

Friday Night with Nat and Zach

I had the best roommates in college. People who I am still so close to, who I love so much! Last Friday, Natalie and her husband, Zach, came up to Logan and we spent the night with them. We ordered pizza and headed up to the first Aggie basketball game of the year. Randy got sweet tickets from Zions Bank so we went and sat with him. Nat and I had to be the coolest and do the Scotsman with the students, even though we weren't sitting in the student section!

After the game, we headed to Providence to go mini golfing! Yes, it was 9:00 at night, but this is the coolest mini golf place in the world! They decorate it for Halloween every year, each hole has a different theme, and on weekend nights they even have people there to scare you, like at a haunted house! We were the only people in the whole place (probably because it was freezing), and the two guys working had a blast scaring us. They did complain about how slow we were, but that was because we were having so much fun! They even treated us to some free hot chocolate after we were done. Definitely the most awesome tradition!

Just a funny side note: Four years ago, on my 21st birthday, I had kidney stones. I made Matt (who wasn't even dating me at the time) skip class and take me to the ER. They gave me some crazy drugs and I couldn't feel any pain, which is crazy because the pain is terrible! The downside was that I had to stay active all day, I couldn't just go home and go to bed. At the time, Alex was a student at USU and happened to have a broken foot and was on crutches. So poor Matt had to babysit "Crip" (Alex) and "Stone" (me) around town for the day. One of the stops we made was to the Halloween mini golf place. Needless to say, it was the most fun I've ever had mini golfing, and to this day I still call Alex "Crip" every once in a while!

Are those Hogwarts Acceptance Letters? Wait... No, Just Bills

For a moment after opening my mailbox, I felt like Harry Potter. TWELVE letters all addressed to me? It must be my acceptance letter to Hogwarts! I didn't think Matt was hoarding the mail, but why else would I have so many?

Oh wait. Those are bills. Why did I get TWELVE of the same bill? I'm still not sure. Someone must have screwed up at Logan Utilities. Whoever you are, thanks for the moment of Harry Potter happiness, but screw you for sending me 12 bills!

Family Pictures

How did I marry such an interesting person? Even doing something as simple as taking family pictures always turns into a crazy event. All week before the pictures, my mom had been changing her mind about what we were going to wear. She finally settled on the boys wearing a white, button-down shirt and jeans. Simple right? Wrong! Matt does not own jeans that don't have construction crap all over them, and doesn't own a long-sleeve shirt that isn't a church shirt. Luckily, Alex works at Old Navy and I called her up and had her grab him some clothes to wear. It was a little easier to dress me, however my mom and Alex did make me change my outfit and try on other clothes for like an hour before we left to take pictures.

After all the crazy, we did get some great pictures...

On a side note, when we arrived at the barn where we were taking our pictures, there was a doe and a buck wandering around. Matt almost died! He wished he were somewhere where he could shoot the buck! He told me that if we had been in the mountains taking pictures and if he had his gun that he wouldn't hesitate to shoot the buck, even if that meant ruining his nice picture outfit. Sorry mom, he wouldn't have even thought twice about it!

It's That Time Again...

Yes, this is a picture of Matt watching the Jazz. It's that time of year. Not only are we watching football and soccer, but now we are watching basketball too. I'm not ready. Last week we were watching the Jazz and I was telling Matt about something that happened that day at school. He turns to me after a few minutes of talking and says, "What?" He hadn't been listening at all. He then proceeded to remind me that I will be ignored during Jazz games. Yep. It's that time of year again.

The best part is that he was so enthralled with the Jazz that he didn't realize that I had unplugged his cell phone from the charger and was charging my phone. I will be looking for similar opportunities during the rest of basketball season. Call me if you have any good ideas.

Happy Birthday to Me!

This year was a great celebration for my birthday. I got to spend the whole weekend before my birthday with my family and I even had family come visit me on my birthday after work! My dad, Laurie, and Alex came up to visit after work on my birthday and we went to the pumpkin walk in North Logan! They couldn't believe that people would put something together like that for no money! It was pretty awesome this year. We even got lucky and didn't get rained on, even though it had been a crazy, stormy day.

Randy and Jenny came with us to the pumpkin walk with the kiddos of course! Uncle Matt loved playing with the kids probably more than they liked playing with him!

UEA Break

UEA break couldn't come at a better time. October is the busiest month for me, from hunting, conference, parent-teacher conferences, birthdays, Halloween, and all the fun Halloween stuff to do, I just need two extra days off to fit it in! Needless to say, I didn't go to the UEA conference like I should have...

We spent Thursday in Salt Lake, running errands and spending time with Matt's family. That night, we had Tim and Reagan over, along with Randy, Jenny and all the kids. It is so fun to see Reagan and Harrison around each other, because they are so close in age, but sooooo different in personality!

After messing around for a while, we ditched (I mean we left) the kids with Diet and Myrna and went bowling. This is a lot of crazy fun, although the people near us probably did not think we were fun at all!

On Friday I was kidnapped by my mom and Alex and we spent the day shopping. As much as I hate shopping, it is definitely fun to challenge my very fashionable mom and sisters to find me something that I like. I am very picky. They were not pleased to see the cowboy boots and Wranglers that Matt got me for my birthday. We had a great time though, in between shopping, going to lunch and messing around!

After shopping I met up with my friends from Copperview Elementary at Gardner Village to see the witches! Jaime and Rachel both were able to come, and it was so fun to catch up. We all teach at different schools now and it is fun to compare how things are going in our different schools and districts. Plus, Jaime just had a darling baby girl and it was so fun to see the baby for the first time! I definitely miss these girls and need to see them more often. That is one of the worst things about moving to Logan, that I really miss the people I have worked with at other schools. I wish I could create a super school with all the people who I love and who are awesome teachers!

After going to Gardner Village, Matt and I met up with Tim and Kamie and went to the Haunted Village at This is the Place. This is our third year going to the Haunted Village and we almost didn't go back after last year's experience. I am glad we went. This is one of the most unique haunted experiences I've ever had, and I love walking around the village at night, being outside and going through the old pioneer buildings, and being scared by someone hiding in a bush. I'm not one for blood and gore, and this is the perfect Halloween creepy place to go! This year Tim and Kamie were a blast. At the very end, Kamie scared one of the employees when she screamed in the employee's face!

After a very busy two days in Salt Lake, we headed back to Logan for the USU football game against New Mexico State (which we won), and our friends Dustin and Emily Wallis came up for the game. We spent the rest of the weekend relaxing, which was well-needed!
